Thanksgiving 09

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving down on the farm in Kentucky. Notable highlights were: Dan skeet shooting, Tyler getting his first (real) haircut, robotic Elmo for Tyler, spending time with Grandaddy and the whole family, eating at Sonic and of course a great time with family over the holidays. We have a lot to be thankful for.

Aaron and Alisha came to visit a few Sundays ago. Here's a good one of her and Tyler playing.

Trick or Treat!

For Halloween, we stopped by our to say hi to our friends Gary and Allison who live just down the street. Tyler's still not sure about what Halloween is all about but he loved seeing all the kids come and go. After we got back home we skyped with both sets of grandparents. Fun times!

The New Basement

A few weeks ago Jen and I got around to re-doing our 1st floor space from an office to a sitting room/extra bedroom and all it took was a a Futon and Shelves from IKEA and then a fresh coat of grey paint on the walls.

We love it. How bout you?

Montreal

Jen and I went to Montreal for our 4th Anniversary and had a great time. We were able to leave Tyler and Kenzie behind with Jen's parents (Thank you!). It was Jen's first time leaving Tyler for more than a day. Everyone did well: Tyler, Jen's parents, Kenzie and especially Jen.

We drove to Montreal on a Wednesday afternoon and got to our hotel (Lowes Hotel Vogue) which we booked through a great website that Sarah and Dave had recommended, LuxuryLink.com. We got a great package deal that included, 3 night stay, a 3-course meal, valet parking, time at the spa and more. The hotel was beautiful and was situated right downtown near St. Catherines Street.

The first day we walked up the Mont Royal which is how the city got it's name. Most of the pictures we have are from up there because you get a spectacular view of the city. After that we just walked around town and took in the sites. The next day we went to the Spa and enjoyed our Scandanavian Baths— very relaxing. That night we went out to a nice dinner at an incredible french restaurant called Europea. We think it could be the best meal we've EVER had. That's saying something.

Overall, we had a wonderful trip and we are so thankful that we could celebrate #4.
